![]() ![]() When doused by the zombie's (yellow) fluid, the player becomes a zombie. In addition to the mummy form from Metal Slug 2/X, other forms are taken by the player in various circumstances: Japonese route (Enter the base but skip the crank switch and go forward until you see a portal with the Japanese word for "entrance").Mutated Bug route (Enter the base and pull the crank switch until the cover opens).Quick Boss route (Same as above but avoid entering the cover).Mummy route (When you see the Rebels running from the mutated bug/Japanese route and the Man Eater spore, go to the upper part and pull the crank switch until the cover opens).LV Armor route (Keep going forward in the scuba section).Ostrich Slug route (Around the second missile wall where a tunnel lowers itself into view).Slug Mariner route (Below the first missile wall.Sasquatch route (Break the "ICEMAN" wall.Ohumein-Conga route (Jump inside the Warp Base Using Slugnoid against boss).Hammer-Yang route (Keep going forward and jump on the Borobune Slug SV-001 Type-R against boss).Slug Mariners route (Using Slugnoid against boss). All paths eventually lead to the same boss battle, but the player may have different equipment and may have rescued different amounts of hostages depending on their choices. In the first four missions, there are forked paths for the player to choose from, each with their own obstacles, and varying in length and difficulty. The new thing about Metal Slug 3, however, is the branching path system. ![]() The gameplay mechanics are the same as previous Metal Slug games. That is until their gun accidentally hits the head of a fishman deep in the sea. The player character's rescuer throws their gun into the ocean signifying the end of this mess. At the end, the player is seen with the abducted character while Morden and three surviving Rebel soldiers fly by in captured UFOs. Rootmars is eventually defeated and is left for dead in the ocean. The player manages to escape, but is confronted by the aliens' leader, Rootmars, while falling through the Earth's atmosphere. After a long battle throughout the ship's interior, the Rugname starts to collapse from all the damage. ![]() Once again, an ad-hoc alliance is formed to combat the external threat, with Rebel Army supplying a rocket ship that allows the player to break into the aliens' mothership. The aliens abduct the player character (if there are two players, only player one is abducted), and another character takes his/her place. After defeating what appears to be General Morden, it turns out that he really is an alien in disguise, while the real Morden was their prisoner (again). General Morden is not the only menace to worry about.Įventually it is learned that the alien menace that appeared in Metal Slug 2/ Metal Slug X has returned. From trivial abductions of livestock to the disappearance of government officials and the appearance of freakishly large creatures, numerous occurrences with nothing in common point to one grim possibility. Meanwhile, the SPARROWS, a special strike force within the government intelligence agency, have come across a series of strange events running parallel to the Peregrine's pursuit of General Morden. Throughout the furious fighting against the holdouts, Marco and Tarma cannot help but suspect Morden's involvement in this new evil plan for world domination. Although General Morden has been written off as "missing" by his followers, they have hidden themselves throughout the world, and Marco and Tarma's abilities and experience are seen as a necessity to destroy the remaining rebel strongholds, one by one. Instrumental in squashing Morden's rebel forces, Marco and Tarma of the Peregrine Falcon Strike Force are ordered to lead the team after their earlier requests for resignation were denied. Morden, brought back into power, was attempting another coup d'état, but government forces got wind of the plot beforehand and pre-empted the impending assault. The rebellion orchestrated by General Morden to bring about a new global regime is now history, and order and peace has begun to return to the world.

![]() ![]() Since Dead Rising 2 the player has been able to scavenge items from the world of Dead Rising, infusing, say, a baseball bat with nails to make a spiky mace-like weapon, in order to better battle the undead. That being said, Dead Rising is a series that recognizes the narrative genre that its gameplay falls into and the sorts of themes prevalent to that genre even in its zaniest components, like being able to cobble together crazy weaponry out of household item. The only “tough” decisions that you will have to make in Dead Rising 3 are things like whether to use that stoplight that you jury rigged to shoot arcs of electricity to destroy the shambling monstrosities that surround you or to instead use the other similarly jury rigged stoplight that you seem to carry around in your back pocket that belches fire - at least this time out.ĭead Rising is a game about zombies and it is a game about survival, but it is also a game that treats wading through the gore of 1,000 undead corpses into a zany, arcade-like activity, especially because you just decided to do so while dressed in a full-sized shark costume while wielding a bullhorn that shoots electrical blasts. ![]() The Dead Rising games do not share the serious tone of another zombie-infused series like The Walking Dead, in which the need for a survivalist philosophy in the face of an overwhelming threat leads to players making difficult moral and sociopolitical decisions. It’s always a comfort to me after the advent of a zombie apocalypse to know that I can make a quick stop off at home to pick up a fiery scythe or a sawed off shotgun with a machete mounted on it (or both for that matter) to fend off the undead hordes.Ĭertainly any game that features the ability to light a scythe on fire or strap a light machine gun to a teddy bear to create a cute, portable gun turret is, of course, not one committed in any way to some form of grim and gritty realism. ![]() ![]() ![]() Journey to distant Arabian lands renowned for brave warriors and fearsome weaponry in Stronghold Crusader HD. SSL package from waves is certainly usable. I do not think the Sonar 76 is the best compressor, but in the right hands it certainly can work. You can get free impulse responses made with a 480 that you can load directly into Rematrix and that might be a good starting point. BREverb and Rematrix are very good Reverb plugins that come with SPLAT. For $150 you can get 6 WAVES plugins (if you are patient and buy when they go on sale). If I want to re-mix 2 years from now then I'd have to pay for them to do so, re-new a subscription, or start from scratch as one example. Like I said I have lots of questions and I'm looking for suggestions.Īhh.I'm not personally a fan of subscription models. Is the Waves CLA2A better than the SPLAT version. Thought about an 1176, but only if it is better or different than the stock SPLAT version. I don't think that SPLAT has anything similar. If the 480 emulation from Slate is close to the original that would be big. I like the rich lush Reverbs sounds, like Lexicon. Right now I don't care too much about mastering, although that could change. I'm mostly old school and want some analog harmonics with digital clarity. Mostly I would like to supplement the stock SPLAT mixing tools with complementary ones, rather than replace. That's pretty reasonable to try them all for a year to see which ones I really want/use. Slate has an Everything annual least for $149 right now. Unfortunately these sales are ending soon, so feel free to answer any other questions I haven't even thought to include. ![]() If I buy either I will own them, but the Slate Everything deal almost seems too good to be true if they are good quality. I know about Waves, but not as familiar with Slate. Other than a couple of obvious SPLAT plugs, I'm not sure what hardware they are modeled after and how those compare to other plugs so if the SPLAT plugs are good I don't need to duplicate. Which, if any, have usefulness that isn't included in Sonar. Are any of the plugs noticeably better than those in SPLAT. I am not too much into EDM or synths, mostly do conventional recording of rock, pop, country etc. I have some really good outboard gear and subscribe to the theory of getting it right at the source. I know that they are opinions and may differ, but that's what art is all about. I haven't heard any plugs demo's so I am kind of in the dark and I appreciate opinions. I did some research and found that some of you felt that you didn't need or use many plugins in addition to what is included in SPLAT, which I have. It contains four Slate Digital processing modules FG-401 Compressor, FG-S EQ, FG-161 FET Compressor, and FG-N EQ.I was considering purchasing a few plugins from Waves until I saw a special deal from Slate digital. You can change your mix's vibe, color, and sound with a single click and easily undo and redo your changes. It comes with seven default Dream Strips, although you can remove them and make your own. When it is launched, the leftmost Dream Strip always loads first, so you can instantly start mixing with the modules you use the most. ![]() This program opens with your own custom dream channel strip by default.
